Euronews: Ballet classes in one of Peru’s most impoverished neighborhoods.

María del Carmen Silva, a retired professional dancer in Lima, Peru, teaches girls whose families cannot afford ballet classes. Most of the girls are from Chorillos, a neighborhood of the capital plagued by unemployment, delinquency and lack of access to clean water.

To pay for the ballet-related expenses -from costumes to travel costs to the competitions- the girls, their parents and their teacher recycle plastic, cardboard and bottles.
